Penyebab terjadi nya flu?

Dok, kira-kira penyebab terjadinya flu apa ya? Saya sering banget flu, hidung gatal & bersin terus menerus? Apakah karena cuaca atau faktor lainnya?

Flu atau influenza adalah infeksi virus yang menyerang saluran pernapasan, sementara itu pilek adalah suatu kondisi dimana hidung akan terasa tersumbat atau berair, baik sesekali maupun terus-menerus. 

Dari gejala yang dikeluhkan terdapat beberapa kemungkinan penyebab pilek, seperti:

  • Alergi
    • Zat atau bahan pemicu seperti debu, bulu binatang, tungau atau serbuk sari bunga dapat memicu alergi yang menimbulkan gejala seperti pilek, hidung gatal, mata berair dan bersin-bersin berulang. Contohnya adalah rhinitis alergi.
  • Infeksi
    • Infeksi pada saluran pernapasan yang disebabkan oleh virus ataupun bakteri dapat menimbulkan gejala pilek. Gejala ini dapat disertai dengan demam, batuk, bersin-bersin, hidung tersumbat dan masih banyak lainnya. Beberapa contohnya adalah influenza, COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
  • Paparan udara dingin atau kering
    • Udara yang dingin dan kering dapat mengubah keseimbangan cairan dalam hidung. Hal ini akan memicu sistem saraf di hidung untuk mengeluarkan cairan. Kondisi ini juga disebut dengan rhinitis vasomotor.
  • Efek samping obat
  • Ketidakseimbangan hormon, misalnya pada masa kehamilan.

 

Untuk meredakan gejala, hindari zat atau bahan pemicu jika memiliki alergi. Memakai masker saat beraktivitas di luar ruangan, hindari kontak dengan orang yang sedang sakit, cuci tangan secara rutin, mandikan hewan peliharaan berbulu secara berkala dan biasakan untuk mandi setelah beraktivitas di luar dapat membantu mengurangi gejala yang dirasakan. Selain itu, mengonsumsi obat pelega hidung tersumbat serta obat antialergi dapat juga meredakan gejala. Yang tidak kalah penting adalah istirahat yang cukup serta banyak minum air putih.

Gejala pilek dapat disebabkan oleh beberapa sebab. Jika dengan menghindari zat pemicu alergi namun gejala seperti pilek, bersin-bersin, hidung gatal dan mata berair tidak kunjung membaik, hal ini menunjukan bahwa pilek terjadi karena penyebab lain. Jika terdapat gejala lain seperti demam, nyeri atau rasa penuh pada pipi, dan nyeri pada telinga, segera periksakan diri ke dokter terdekat.
