Menurut ahli dermatologi, ada beberapa tips sederhana untuk merawat tumit kering dan pecah-pecah yang bisa Anda coba, di antaranya:

Membatasi durasi mandi

Ahli dermatologi merekomendasikan untuk membatasi durasi mandi yaitu sekitar 5-10 menit saja. Mandi yang terlalu lama dapat menyebabkan kulit menjadi kering dan kasar serta bisa memperburuk kondisi tumit pecah-pecah.

Membatasi durasi mandi terutama saat mandi dengan air panas adalah langkah yang membantu menjaga kelembapan kulit. Setelah mandi, Anda juga disarankan tidak menggosok kulit dengan handuk secara kasar, melainkan menepuk-nepuk kulit dengan lembut.

Menggunakan pembersih yang lembut

Menggunakan pembersih yang lembut dan bebas pewangi adalah langkah penting dalam menjaga keseimbangan minyak alami dan mencegah kekeringan di kulit. Pewangi dan bahan kimia tertentu dalam produk pembersih dapat mengiritasi kulit, terutama bila Anda memiliki jenis kulit sensitif.

Pembersih yang lembut akan membersihkan kulit tanpa menghilangkan minyak alami yang diperlukan untuk menjaga kulit tetap sehat dan lembap. Sesuaikan pula pembersih kulit dengan jenis kulit Anda untuk mendapatkan perawatan kulit yang efektif.

Menggunakan pelembap

Menggunakan krim pelembap yang mengandung urea, asam alfa hidroksi atau asam salisilat dapat membantu merawat tumit pecah-pecah dan menjaga kelembapan kulit. Produk dengan kandungan tersebut dapat membantu melunakkan kulit kering, mencegah serta mengatasi tumit pecah-pecah.

Memilih alas kaki yang tepat

Pemilihan alas kaki yang tepat dapat membantu merawat dan mencegah tumit pecah-pecah. Alas kaki yang tepat membantu mengurangi tekanan dan gesekan berlebihan pada tumit, serta menjaga kelembapan kulit.

Alas kaki terbuka seperti sandal jepit atau slingback meningkatkan risiko tumit pecah-pecah terutama saat digunakan berjalan di permukaan keras atau kasar. Anda mungkin perlu memilih sepatu dengan ukuran yang pas untuk menjaga kesehatan kaki, termasuk tumit.
