Jika penyumbat telinga digunakan setiap hari, seiring berjalannya waktu hal ini dapat mendorong kotoran telinga kembali ke telinga sehingga menyebabkan penumpukan.

Infeksi bakteri

Secara umum earplug dibagi menjadi dua jenis, yaitu tipe berventilasi dan tertutup. Earplug berventilasi memiliki lubang kecil yang biasa digunakan saat menyelam atau penerbangan untuk menyamakan tekanan di telinga. Sedangkan untuk tidur, Anda bisa memilih menggunakan earplug yang tidak berventilasi.

Earplug juga dapat dibedakan berdasarkan bahannya, yaitu:

  • Lilin (wax), mudah dibentuk sesuai ukuran telinga, aman digunakan untuk tidur dan berenang karena tahan air.
  • Silikon, biasanya berbahan silikon keras dan tidak nyaman digunakan untuk tidur, terutama jika Anda gemar tidur menyamping.
  • Busa, merupakan bahan earplug yang paling murah dan umumnya sekali pakai. Memiliki bahan yang lembut sehingga lebih aman digunakan untuk tidur.
