Sebuah studi di tahun 2002 menunjukkan bahwa olahan bawang bombay dapat mendorong pertumbuhan rambut. Kelompok yang membasuh kepala dengan jus bawang bombay mengalami pertumbuhan rambut jika dibandingkan dengan kelompok yang hanya keramas dengan air kran. Hasil positif ini lebih banyak dialami pria daripada wanita.

Sebuah studi yang lebih baru di tahun 2018 dalam Journal of Drug Delivery and Therapeutics menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan sampo bawang bombay dapat membantu mendorong pertumbuhan rambut, memberi nutrisi bagi folikel rambut dan melembapkan kulit kepala dan rambut kering.

Meskipun menunjukkan hasil yang positif, namun para ahli mengungkapkan bahwa sampo bawang bombay sebaiknya tidak digunakan untuk mengatasi masalah rambut seperti alopesia atau kebotakan. Cara Mencoba Jus Bawang Bombay untuk Rambut

Bagi Anda yang ingin mencoba perawatan rambut menggunakan bawang bombay, bisa mencoba cara berikut ini:

  • Kupas sekitar empat bawang bombay dan potong kecil-kecil
  • Ekstrak jus dari bawang dengan meremasnya atau menggunakan juicer
  • Cara lain, Anda bisa menggunakan blender untuk menghaluskan bawang bombay hingga teskturnya berubah mirip pasta
  • Tempatkan pasta di kain katun tipis dan peras semua sarinya
