Minum pil KB merupakan salah satu alat kontrasepsi yang aman untuk mencegah kehamilan. Sayangnya, mengonsumsi pil KB sering dianggap dapat membuat tubuh menjadi gemuk sehingga membuat banyak wanita merasa tidak percaya diri.

Hormon estrogen dapat meningkatkan nafsu makan, sedangkan hormon progesteron dapat meningkatkan retensi air yang membuat tubuh lebih gemuk. Namun, hal ini banyak terjadi di pengunaan pil KB generasi pertama yang memiliki dosis hormon berkali lipat dari dosis yang beredar saat ini.

Dilansir WebMD, kenaikan berat badan akibat pil KB memang dapat terjadi, namun kondisi ini jarang terjadi dan dapat berkurang dalam 2-3 bulan. Dengan menjaga pola hidup sehat dan aktif, Anda dapat mengurangi risiko kenaikan berat badan akibat minum pil KB.

 

Tips Mencegah Kenaikan Berat Badan Akibat Minum Pil KB

1. Pilih pil KB yang sesuai

Pil KB yang beredar di pasaran terdiri dari berbagai macam jenis. Biasanya pil KB mengandung hormon estrogen dan progesteron sintetis yang menahan air dan meningkakan nafsu makan. Untuk menghindarinya, Anda bisa memilih pil KB yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan Anda. Salah satu jenis pil KB yang bisa digunakan adalah pil yang mengandung drospirenon. Anda bisa mendapatkan pil KB ini sesuai anjuran dokter. 

2. Rutin olahraga

Olahraga dapat membantu Anda menjaga berat badan. Lakukan olahraga secara rutin 30 menit sehari atau 150 menit per minggu untuk membantu membakar lemak dan mencegah kenaikan berat badan. Anda bisa memilih jenis olahraga yang Anda sukai seperti lari, jalan pagi, berenang, atau bersepeda. Selain berolahraga, Anda juga dianjurkan menerapkan gaya hidup aktif seperti memperbanyak gerak di rumah, menaiki tangga, dan rutin berjalan kaki.

3. Menjaga asupan makanan

Penting bagi ibu untuk menjaga asupan makanan untuk menjaga berat badan. Dilansir dari Medical News Today, Anda dianjurkan untuk mengonsumsi makanan yang kaya nutrisi dan serat seperti sayuran, biji-biijan dan buah-buahan. Selain itu Anda dianjurkan mengurangi makanan yang mengandung gula, garam dan lemak jenuh.

4. Mengurangi asupan kalori

Selain memperkaya asupan sayuran dan buah-buahan, Anda juga bisa meningkatkan konsumsi makanan yang mengandung protein untuk menurunkan nafsu makan namun tetap memberi rasa kenyang. Anda juga dianjurkan untuk mengurangi asupan kalori sebanyak 500 kalori setiap harinya sehingga kalori harian yang masuk berkisar antara 1200-1500 kalori.


Kenaikan berat badan akibat minum pil KB sebenarnya merupakan efek dari hormon buatan yang meningkatkan nafsu makan dan penumpukan cairan dalam tubuh. Namun kenaikan berat badan ini sifatnya hanya sementara. Dengan pengaturan pola makan dan penerapan gaya hidup sehat, Anda dapat terhindar dari kegemukan. Selain itu kenaikan berat badan juga dapat disebabkan oleh faktor lainnya seperti kurang istirahat, stres, dan lain-lain.
