Pil KB adalah salah satu alat kontrasepsi yang efektif untuk mencegah kehamilan. Namun, efektivitas pil KB bergantung pada kedisiplinan Anda dalam mengonsumsi pil tersebut. Pil KB harus dikonsumsi setiap hari di waktu yang sama setiap harinya. Jika terlewat, hal ini dapat mengurangi efektivitas dari pil KB. Lantas, bagaimana jika Anda lupa mengonsumsi pil KB?

 

Apa Itu Pil KB?

Pil KB adalah obat-obatan yang digunakan untuk mencegah kehamilan. Pil ini mengandung hormon yang berfungsi untuk menunda kehamilan dengan cara menghentikan ovulasi, menebalkan lapisan mukus di leher rahim untuk mencegah sel sprema berenang bertemu sel telur dan menipiskan lapisan dinding rahim agar sel telur sulit menempel. 

Secara umum ada dua jenis pil KB yang beredar di pasaran, yaitu pil kombinasi dan mini pill. Perbedaan antara pil kombinasi dan mini pill antara lain:

Pil kombinasi, yaitu pil gabungan antara berbagai macam hormon estrogen dan progesteron buatan. Pil ini dikenal dengan pil dosis rendah dan aman digunakan bagi perempuan yang sensitif pada hormon buatan.

Pil mini, yaitu pil yang hanya mengandung hormon progesteron. Biasanya, pil dosis progesteron ini memiliki dosis progesteron yang lebih sedikit daripada pil kombinasi.

Menurut Cleveland Clinic, pil KB mampu mencegah kehamilan hingga 99% jika teratur dikonsumsi. Akan lebih baik jika Anda dapat konsisten minum pil KB pada waktu yang sama setiap hari. Cara ini akan membantu menjaga kadar hormon tetap stabil dan tidak berfluktuasi. Karenanya, jika Anda lupa mengonsumsi pil KB maka kemungkinan hamil akan meningkat.

 

Bagaimana Jika Anda Lupa Minum Pil KB?

Untuk mengatasi masalah lupa minum pil KB, Anda perlu melihat jenis pil yang dikonsumsi, berapa hari Anda lupa mengonsumsi pil KB, dan berapa jumlah pil yang lupa Anda minum. Berikut ini panduan yang bisa Anda gunakan jika lupa minum pil KB:

Pil kombinasi:

Jika terlewat 1 pil: Segera minum pil begitu Anda ingat, kemudian lanjutkan minum pil KB berikutnya sesuai jadwal sebelumnya. Apabila Anda lupa minum pil KB di hari tersebut, maka Anda dianjurkan minum 2 pil di hari berikutnya, lalu lanjutkan sisanya dengan minum 1 dosis seperti biasa.

Jika terlewat 2 pil: Jika Anda melewatkan dua kali jadwal minum pil, sebaiknya segera minum 1 dosis yang terakhir terlewat. Misalnya, jika Anda lupa minum pil KB di hari Senin dan Selasa, maka di hari Rabu Anda sebaiknya minum 2 pil. Pada periode ini sebaiknya Anda menggunakan kondom jika ingin berhubungan seks.

Jika terlewat 3 pil atau lebih: Apabila Anda melewatkan 3 pil KB atau lebih secara berturut-turut, segera minum pil yang tersisa sesuai jadwal dan Anda tidak perlu mengganti pil yang sudah terlewatkan. Untuk mencegah kehamilan, sebaiknya gunakan kondom saat berhubungan seksual hingga sisa pil KB habis.

Mini Pill:

Dalam aturan minum mini pill, jika Anda terlewat 3 jam dari jadwal minum, maka Anda perlu segera mengonsumsi pil KB tersebut. Selanjutnya, minum sisa pil KB sesuai jadwal pada hari tersebut.

Bila Anda melakukan hubungan seks dalam 3-5 hari sebelumnya, Anda bisa menambahkan pil kontrasepsi darurat untuk membantu mencegah kehamilan.


Pil KB adalah salah satu alat kontrasepsi yang banyak digunakan para perempuan karena praktis dan mudah didapat. Namun menggunakan pil KB berarti membutuhkan kedisiplinan agar selalu tepat waktu saat minum pil tersebut. Sebaiknya, pasang pengingat pada ponsel Anda agar tidak lupa minum pil KB. Jika masih sering melewatkan jadwal minum pil KB, sebaiknya konsultasikan ke dokter untuk menggunakan alat kontrasepsi yang lebih sesuai dengan kondisi Anda.
