Sinar matahari pagi meghasilkan sinar ultraviolet yang dapat memicu tubuh membentuk vitamin D. Vitamin D sendiri memiliki beragam manfaat pada kesehatan, terutama di masa pandemi Covid-19 ini. Banyak anggapan masyarakat bahwa dengan berjemur di pagi hari, virus penyebab Covid-19 dapat mati dan merupakan salah satu cara untuk mencegah infeksi Covid-19. Meski tidak sepenuhnya benar, berjemur matahari pagi dapat membuat tubuh menghasilkan vitamin D yang berguna dalam melawan infeksi Covid-19. Simak ulasannya berikut ini.

Manfaat Berjemur Matahari

Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) menyatakan bahwa paparan sinar matahari dapat mengatasi berbagai masalah kulit, misalnya penanganan jerawat, eksim, sakit kuning, dan psoriasis. Namun tentunya, bagi para pasien yang mengalami hal-hal tersebut tetap harus berkonsultasi dengan dokter sebelum melakukan berjemur. 

Selain itu, berjemur juga dapat memicu tubuh menghasilkan vitamin D yang berguna untuk kesehatan. Vitamin D merupakan salah satu vitamin yang larut dalam lemak dan diketahui dapat menjadi faktor pencegahan beberapa penyakit, seperti rematoid artritis, tuberkulosis, serta rakitis. Vitamin D juga diketahui baik untuk pencegahan infeksi saluran pernapasan, di mana Covid-19 menyerang saluran pernapasan.

Waktu yang tepat untuk berjemur

Meski baik untuk kulit dan kesehatan tubuh, berjemur tidak dapat dilakukan sembarangan. Hal ini karena apabila waktu atau durasi nya kurang tepat, maka justru akan menimbulkan beberapa dampak buruk bagi kesehatan. Waktu berjemur yang disarankan ialah antara pukul 10 pagi hingga 1 siang. Pada rentang waktu ini, sinar ultraviolet B yang bermanfaat dalam memicu vitamin D sedang tinggi. 

Selain itu, durasi berjemur juga perlu diperhatikan. Anda disarankan untuk berjemur antara 5-15 menit dan tidak lebih dari itu. Pasalnya, durasi berjemur terlalu lama dapat meningkatkan risiko sunburn, kerusakan kulit, serta lebih parahnya, yaitu kanker kulit.

Anda juga perlu memperhatikan beberapa tips berjemur yang aman, sehingga tetap mendapatkan manfaat dan mencegah efek samping dari berjemur.

Tips berjemur saat pandemi Covid-19

Beberapa hal yang perlu Anda perhatikan saat berjemur, di antaranya:

  1. Gunakan tabir surya, topi pelindung, dan kacamata saat berjemur. Tetap lindungi kulit Anda dari risiko terbakar akibat berjemur matahari. Gunakan tabir surya minimal SPF 15 untuk melindungi kulit.
  2. Minum air putih yang cukup saat berjemur. Berjemur di bawah matahari pagi tentunya dapat membuat Anda berkeringat. Hal ini dapat mengurangi hidrasi Anda secara tidak sadar. Oleh karena itu, sebaiknya sediakan botol air minum di samping Anda dan konsumsi air yang cukup saat berjemur.
  3. Tetap menjaga jarak minimal 2 meter. Apabila berjemur dilakukan bersama dengan anggota keluarga lainnya, tetap jaga jarak Anda.
  4. Perhatikan waktu dan durasi berjemur. Jangan terlalu lama untuk berjemur matahari karena hal tersebut dapat meningkatkan risiko Anda mengalami kerusakan kulit.

Berjemur memiliki beragam manfaat untuk kesehatan, terutama di masa pandemi Covid-19. Beberapa penelitian juga menyebutkan bahwa efek berjemur dapat meningkatkan hormon serotonin atau hormon kebahagiaan. Sehingga, tak heran jika setelah berjemur, Anda akan merasa lebih segar dan bersemangat untuk menjalani hari.
