Beberapa minyak aromaterapi yang bisa Anda gunakan untuk mengatasi gangguan tidur di antaranya:

1. Lavender

Minyak lavender adalah salah satu aromaterapi yang paling banyak digunakan untuk membuat tidur lebih nyenyak. Dalam sebuah penelitian disebutkan bahwa penggunaan minyak aromaterapi lavender membuat para pasien tidur lebih nyenyak dengan kualitas tidur lebih baik.

Anda bisa menggunakan aromaterapi lavender dengan cara dioleskan ke kulit setelah diencerkan, atau menyemprotkan aromaterapi lavender ke area tempat tidur Anda. Beberapa jenis minyak esensial lavender juga bisa Anda gunakan untuk campuran dalam produk perawatan tubuh seperti losion atau sabun mandi.

 

2. Chamomile

Chamomile dikenal memiliki khasiat untuk membuat tubuh lebih rileks dan tenang. Anda bisa menggunakan minyak esensial chamomile ke dalam diffuser sambil menikmati teh chamomile untuk membantu tubuh lebih tenang. Chamomile juga banyak digunakan untuk mengatasi insomnia dan sakit kepala.

 

3. Bergamot

Bergamot adalah jeruk yang memiliki bentuk mirip jeruk purut dan merupakan persilangan antara lemon dengan jeruk pahit. Kelebihan bergamot lainnya, selain memiliki aroma yang menenangkan, bergamot juga memiliki sifat antibakteri yang lebih baik dibanding lemon dan jeruk lainnya.

Bagi penggemar aroma segar buah-buahan, aromaterapi dengan aroma bergamot bisa jadi pilihan untuk membuat tidur lebih nyenyak. Sebuah penelitian menyebutkan bahwa orang yang menggunakan minyak esensial bergamot memiliki kualitas tidur yang lebih baik dan dapat tertidur lebih lelap. Selain untuk mengatasi gangguan tidur, aromaterapi bergamot juga sudah lama digunakan untuk mengatasi kecemasan dan gangguan kesehatan mental lainnya.

 

4. Melati

Aroma lembut melati dapat meningkatkan suasana hati menjadi lebih baik. Menghirup aroma melati juga dapat membuat seseorang lebih tenang dan meningkatkan rasa percaya diri. Dalam sebuah penelitian disebutkan, sekelompok lansia yang diberikan relaksasi aromaterapi memiliki kualitas tidur yang jauh lebih baik dibanding dengan lansia yang tidak menerima terapi tersebut.

 

5. Kayu cedar

Kayu cedar atau cedarwood merupakan salah satu minyak aromaterapi yang banyak digunakan untuk mengatasi gangguan tidur pada pengidap demensia. Dalam sebuah penelitian disebutkan bahwa pengidap demensia dapat tidur lebih nyenyak dan jarang terbangun di malam hari setelah menghirup aroma kayu cedar.
