Salah satu penyakit yang banyak dialami ketika perubahan cuaca adalah flu. Namun ada beberapa orang yang mudah terkena flu di luar perubahan musim. Faktor gaya hidup dan lingkungan menjadi beberapa faktor penyebab seseorang mudah sakit atau tertular flu. 

 

Penyebab Seseorang Rentan Terkena Flu

Flu merupakan salah satu penyakit yang mudah menular. Penyakit ini disebabkan oleh virus influenza dan menyerang saluran pernapasan seperti hidung, paru-paru, dan tenggorokan.

Flu dengan mudah menular dengan gejala ringan hingga berat. Beberapa gejala yang sering muncul antara lain demam, batuk, sakit tenggorokan, pilek, dan hidung meler.

Penyakit flu menular melalui percikan air liur di udara. Seseorang bisa tertular flu ketika menghirup udara yang mengandung percikan air liur yang mengandung virus flu dari orang yang lebih dulu terinfeksi flu.

Anda juga bisa tertular flu jika menyentuh permukaan seperti meja, gagang pintu, atau benda lainnya yang telah terkontaminasi virus flu. Virus flu dapat bertahan hidup di permukaan benda keras hingga 48 jam.

Faktor lingkungan, cuaca, daya tahan tubuh, dan gaya hidup sangat memengaruhi sistem kekebalan seseorang dalam melawan virus flu. Orang dengan daya tahan tubuh lemah cenderung mudah terserang flu dan penyakit lainnya. Berikut ini beberapa penyebab seseorang rentan mengalami infeksi virus influenza:

Faktor cuaca

Virus influenza juga diketahui lebih stabil dalam suhu dingin dan udara kering. Inilah sebabnya banyak orang mengalami infeksi virus flu ketika peralihan cuaca dari musim kemarau ke musim hujan. Saat musim hujan banyak orang berkumpul di dalam ruangan, hal ini juga meningkatkan risiko orang tertular virus flu. 

Tinggal di area padat

Tinggal di area padat penduduk seperti rumah susun atau asrama juga dapat meningkatkan risiko seseorang mudah terkena flu. Terutama jika area tersebut tidak memiliki area ventilasi dan sistem kebersihan yang memadai. 

Kurang vitamin D

Jika Anda rentan sakit, kemungkinan Anda kurang vitamin D. Sebuah penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa kekurangan vitamin D dapat meningkatkan risiko sejumlah penyakit seperti flu, COVID-19, dan infeksi saluran pernapasan atas.

Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan vitamin D, Anda bisa berjemur rutin di pagi hari, mengonsumsi makanan yang mengandung vitamin D, atau mengonsumsi suplemen vitamin D.

Gaya hidup kurang bersih

Virus flu dapat dengan mudah menular melalui kontak langsung dengan permukaan keras yang telah terkontaminasi virus. Seseorang yang sering menyentuh permukaan kotor lalu menyentuh muka di area hidung dan bibir dapat dengan mudah terkena infeksi iinfluenza.

Kebiasaan jarang mencuci tangan dengan sabun dan air mengalir setelah menyentuh permukaan atau barang-barang di fasilitas umum juga dapat meningkatkan risiko terkena flu.

Tips Mencegah Penularan Virus Influenza

Anda dapat tertular virus flu dari mana saja. Untuk mengurangi risiko tertular, Anda bisa melakukan beberapa upaya pencegahan, yaitu:

  • Melakukan vaksin flu secara rutin
  • Rajin mencuci tangan dengan sabun dan air mengalir, atau menggunakan hand sanitizer jika tidak terdapat air mengalir
  • Menggunakan masker saat sakit
  • Mengonsumsi makanan sehat 
  • Tidak berbagi alat makan dengan orang lain
  • Mengelola stres dengan baik 
  • Cukup tidur minimal 7-8 jam per hari
  • Memperbanyak minum air putih
  • Berjemur
  • Rutin olahraga
