Current sweet drinks such as milk tea, BOBa tea, sugar palm coffee, and other topping drinks have become a trend that is popular with many people, especially young people. Sweet and refreshing tastes, as well as attractive appearances often make people addicted and make them a favorite drink for daily consumption.

However, behind its popularity, consuming contemporary sweet drinks has a negative impact on health, one of which is increasing the risk of non-alcoholic fatty livers or other liver diseases.

Fruktosa Impact On Liver Health

Most of the contemporary sugary drinks contain higher amounts of sugar, both in the form of sugar, cornouse, and fructose. Fructosa is considered to be more harmful sugar because metabolism occurs in the liver.

Unlike glucose that can be utilized by almost every body cell, fructose can only be processed in the liver. When the liver receives too much fructose, this metabolic process turns into fat.

The buildup of fat in the liver will cause inflammation, which in the end can worsen liver function. In the long term, when the liver is filled with fat, the liver will not be able to function properly so that it is at risk of developing liver disease.

Current sweet drinks are often consumed more than once a day. These drinks contain equivalent amounts of sugar or even higher than the body's daily needs. If this habit is not balanced with a healthy diet and physical activity, the risk of fatty liver disease is increasing.
