Apa Itu KB Implan (KB Susuk)?

Di Indonesia, masyarakat mengenal KB implan dengan nama KB susuk. Alat kontrasepsi ini berbentuk tabung plastik kecil yang ramping dan berisi hormon untuk mencegah kehamilan. Dengan menggunakan alat khusus, tabung ini akan dimasukkan ke dalam kulit lengan atas. Implan yang ditanam dapat dilihat dengan menggunakan sinar X sehingga Anda dapat mengetahui dimana lokasi implan tersebut berada.

 

Bagaimana Cara Kerja KB Implan (KB Susuk)?

KB implan yang ditanam di lengan bekerja dengan melepaskan hormon progesteron dalam kadar sangat rendah dan stabil. Hormon ini berfungsi menebalkan lendir di leher rahim sehingga menyulitkan sel sperma saat berenang. Hormon ini juga bekerja dengan menipiskan dinding rahim dan menunda ovulasi sehingga dapat mencegah kehamilan.

KB implan adalah alat kontrasepsi yang aman digunakan dan efektif mencegah kehamilan. Dilansir dari Planned Parenthood, KB implan memiliki efektivitas hingga 99%. Artinya, hanya 1 dari 100 orang yang menggunakan KB implan mengalami kehamilan. Namun kondisi ini jarang sekali terjadi.

Jika Anda memasang KB implan dalam 5 hari pertama menstruasi, Anda dapat segera terlindungi dari kehamilan. Namun jika Anda memasang KB implan di luar siklus, maka sebaiknya gunakan kondom saat berhubungan seksual untuk meningkatkan proteksi.

Masa pakai KB implan dapat bertahan hingga 5 tahun. Karena sudah terpasang di lengan, maka Anda akan selalu terlindungi dari kemungkinan kehamilan. Efek Samping Penggunaan KB Implan

Penggunaan KB implan dapat menimbulkan efek samping bagi sebagian orang. Namun efek samping ini tidak berlangsung lama dan dapat hilang dalam beberapa bulan ketika tubuh sudah terbiasa dengan susuk. Beberapa efek samping yang mungkin muncul dari penggunaan KB implan antara lain:

  • Muncul bercak cokelat atau perdarahan pada 6-12 bulan pertama
  • Menstruasi lebih lama dan deras
  • Sakit kepala
  • Nyeri di payudara
  • Mual
  • Penambahan berat badan
  • Nyeri di lengan yang terpasang implan
  • Kista ovarium

Jika efek samping dari KB implan dirasa mengganggu keseharian Anda, maka konsultasikan ke dokter untuk menangani masalah tersebut. Apabila memang diperlukan, Anda bisa mengganti implan dengan alat kontrasepsi lainnya.

 

Siapa Saja yang Bisa Menggunakan KB Implan (KB Susuk)?

KB implan merupakan alat kontrasepsi yang aman, namun ada beberapa kelompok yang sebaiknya tidak menggunakan KB susuk, yaitu:

  • Memiliki alergi dengan bahan KB implan
  • Memiliki masalah penggumpalan darah, memiliki riwayat serangan jantung dan stroke
  • Memiliki penyakit hati atau tumor hati
  • Memiliki riwayat atau dugaan kanker payudara
  • Mengalami perdarahan
