Lonjakan kasus positif Covid-19 kian tak terbendung di beberapa negara termasuk Indonesia. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan pemerintah selain melakukan penebalan PPKM Mikro (Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat) juga memperluas cakupan vaksinasi di berbagai lapisan masyarakat. Akhir-akhir ini beredar informasi di masyarakat akan perlunya suntikan vaksin Sinovac dosis ketiga untuk meningkatkan kekebalan tubuh menghadapi virus Covid-19. Benarkah demikian?

 

Dosis ketiga vaksin Sinovac diklaim meningkatkan antibodi hingga 20 kali lipat

Dilansir dari laman Global Times, Yin Weidong, seorang kepala produsen vaksin Sinovac menyatakan bahwa pemberian dosis ketiga vaksin vaksin Sinovac dapat meningkatkan respon antibodi hingga 10-20 kali lipat pada hari ke 7-15 setelah vaksin ketiga. Hingga saat ini, perusahaannya telah menyelesaikan uji klinis vaksin fase 2.

Pada tahapan ini uji coba dilakukan untuk melihat respon antibodi yang terbentuk setelah pemberian vaksin Sinovac dosis ketiga. Dalam penelitian tersebut, sejumlah relawan menerima suntikan ketiga vaksin Sinovac setelah 3 dan 6 bulan. Hasilnya, respon antibodi meningkat 10 kali lipat dalam seminggu dan 20 kali lipat dalam 15 hari.

Meskipun menunjukkan hasil yang menjanjikan, namun masih perlu penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai perlunya penambahan dosis ketiga atau booster untuk vaksin Sinovac. Hingga saat ini pun belum ada penelitian atau publikasi ilmiah mengenai pentingnya dosis ketiga vaksin Sinovac untuk melawan virus Covid-19.

 

Kapan perlu diberikan dosis ketiga vaksin Covid-19?

Tak hanya produsen Sinovac yang merasa perlunya penambahan dosis ketiga vaksin Covid-19, namun sejumlah produsen vaksin juga mengatakan hal yang serupa. Dilansir dari laman CNBC, CEO Pfizer Albert Boula menyatakan bahwa vaksin ketiga diperlukan sebagai booster dan perlu diberikan dalam jangka waktu kurang dari 1 tahun setelah dosis kedua. Boula juga menambahkan adanya kemungkinan vaksin Covid-19 diberlakukan layaknya vaksin influenza yang bisa diberikan setiap tahun mengingat kecepatan mutasi dari virus Covid-19.

Pendapat serupa juga diutarakan oleh CEO Johnson & Johnson yang menyatakan bahwa vaksin Covid-19 mungkin akan perlu diberikan setiap tahun. Namun, semua masukan ini tetap membutuhkan penelitian lebih lanjut.

Untuk saat ini, sejumlah produsen virus seperti Pfizer dan BioNTech sedang melakukan uji coba pemberian vaksin ketiga untuk mengetahui respon kekebalan tubuh pada mutasi baru virus Covid-19.

Dengan demikian, belum dapat diketahui apakah dosis ketiga vaksin Sinovac benar-benar dibutuhkan dan kapan waktu yang tepat untuk memberikan dosis ketiga tersebut.

 

Tetap patuhi protokol kesehatan

Sementara anjuran vaksin Covid-19 ketiga belum bisa direkomendasikan untuk masyarakat dan varian virus Covid-19 kian berkembang, maka yang bisa dilakukan saat ini adalah tetap menjaga protokol kesehatan di mana pun berada.

Selalu gunakan masker dan gunakan masker rangkap jika perlu, jaga jarak dengan orang lain, hindari kerumunan dan rajin mencuci tangan dengan sabun. Selain itu, batasi mobilitas dan batasi keperluan ke luar rumah untuk hal yang kurang penting. Setibanya di rumah, lakukan dekontaminasi dengan baik untuk menghindari penularan pada anggota keluarga.
