Lansia masuk dalam golongan berisiko tinggi terhadap gejala berat, kebutuhan perawatan intensif di rumah sakit dan kematian saat terinfeksi Covid-19. Untuk itulah, vaksin dinilai perlu diberikan pada lansia untuk memberikan perlindungan dan menurunkan segala kemungkinan risiko, terutama bagi lansia yang memiliki penyakit penyerta.

 

Aturan Vaksin Booster Covid-19 untuk Lansia

Tercatat per Kamis, 28 Juni 2022, lansia yang telah mendapatkan vaksinasi Covid-19 dosis 3 mencapai 5.816.501, sekitar 26,99% dari target jumlah lansia di Indonesia.

Jika sebelumnya vaksinasi booster diberikan minimal 6 bulan setelah penyuntikan dosis kedua, kini pemberian vaksin lanjutan dipercepat menjadi minimal 3 bulan setelah menerima vaksinasi dosis lengkap. Aturan baru ini tertuang dalam Surat Edaran Direktur Jenderal Pencegahan dan Pengendalian Penyakit Nomor SR.02.06/II/ 1123 /2022 tentang Penyesuaian Pelaksanaan Vaksinasi COVID-19 Dosis Lanjutan (Booster) bagi Lansia.

 

Manfaat Vaksin Booster untuk Lansia

Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa vaksin dapat mengendalikan tingkat penyebaran Covid-19, namun karena perlindungan yang didapat bukan jangka panjang, maka diperlukan vaksin lanjutan (vaksin booster) untuk meningkatkan perlindungannya.

Vaksin booster atau disebut vaksin lanjutan adalah dosis vaksin yang diberikan kembali untuk memberikan pertahanan terbaik melawan Covid-19. Vaksin booster memberikan berbagai manfaat di antaranya:

  • Meningkatkan kembali perlindungan akibat perlindungan dari vaksin dosis primer yang telah menurun
  • Memperkuat antibodi yang sudah ada di dalam tubuh guna mencegah infeksi virus corona
  • Memperpanjang masa perlindungan dari infeksi Covid-19
  • Mempertahankan tingkat kekebalan tubuh

Percepatan vaksinasi primer maupun booster perlu dilakukan mengingat sebagian besar pasien Covid-19 yang meninggal adalah pasien berusia lanjut baik yang belum divaksin maupun memiliki penyakit penyerta. Pemerintah akan terus mendorong cakupan vaksinasi ini, sampai mencapai target minimal 70% dari populasi.

 

Jenis Vaksin Booster untuk Lansia

Dalam penerapannya, sebenarnya vaksin primer dan booster akan diberikan sesuai dengan ketersediaan vaksin di masing-masing daerah. Sehingga diharapkan semua orang termasuk lansia tidak pilih-pilih vaksin.

Adapun jenis vaksin booster yang tersedia saat ini di antaranya:

  • Vaksin primer Sinovac - vaksin booster Astra Zeneca, Pfizer atau Moderna
  • Vaksin primer Astra Zeneca - vaksin booster Moderna, Pfizer, atau Astra Zeneca
  • Vaksin primer Pfizer - vaksin booster Pfizer, Moderna atau Astra Zeneca
  • Vaksin primer Moderna - vaksin booster Moderna
  • Vaksin primer Janssen (J&J) - vaksin booster Moderna
  • Vaksin primer Sinopharm - vaksin booster Sinopharm

Vaksin booster bisa diperoleh di layanan kesehatan atau fasilitas kesehatan terdekat di area tempat tinggal. Pastikan untuk tetap menjaga protokol kesehatan meskipun telah mendapatkan vaksinasi Covid-19 baik dosis primer maupun dosis lanjutan.
