Selain itu, oral seks juga berisiko menularkan penyakit infeksi lainnya seperti klamidia, virus HIV, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, dan kutil kelamin.

Untuk itu, penggunaan kondom sangat diperlukan setiap Anda melakukan aktivitas seksual bersama pasangan. Menjaga kebersihan diri dan pasangan. Sebelum dan sesudah melakukan seks oral, sebaiknya Anda dan pasangan sama-sama membersihkan diri, terutama area kelamin dan rongga mulut.

Menggunakan kondom atau dental dam. Dalam melakukan seks oral, penting untuk menggunakan kondom, dental dam atau metode penghalang lainnya sebagai upaya pencegahan penularan penyakit seksual.

Menggunakan pelumas. Untuk mengurangi gesekan pada gigi, Anda dapat menggunakan pelumas. Pilih pelumas yang berbahan air atau silikon yang nyaman untuk digunakan bersama pasangan.

Hentikan jika terjadi luka. Apabila Anda mendapati adanya luka atau keluarnya cairan abnormal pada pasangan maka sebaiknya hentikan hubungan intim tersebut lalu periksa luka yang muncul. 

Pastikan menggunakan kondom baru. Jika Anda ingin melanjutkan sesi bercinta, sebaiknya buang kondom sebelumnya dan gunakan kondom baru untuk menghindari penyebaran virus dan bakteri.
