Hepatitis adalah peradangan pada organ hati yang dapat disebabkan oleh infeksi virus atau kebiasaan minum alkohol. Pengobatan hepatitis umumnya dilakukan dengan minum obat-obatan yang mengurangi peradangan. Selain obat-obatan, beberapa bahan alami juga dapat digunakan untuk membantu pemulihan hepatitis.

 

Bahan Alami untuk Meredakan Hepatitis

Milk thistle

Milk thistle atau dikenal juga sebagai silymarin adalah tanaman yang berasal dari famili bunga daisy. Tanaman ini memiliki bahan aktif bernama silymarin yang kaya akan antioksidan. Tanaman ini banyak digunakan untuk mengatasi masalah hati seperti sirosis hati, penyakit kuning, hepatitis dan gangguan kantong empedu.

Namun para ahli mengungkapkan masih perlu penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai penggunaan milk thistle untuk mengatasi masalah liver. Pasalnya beberapa penelitian menunjukkan hasil yang tidak signifikan pada pasien hepatitis.

 

Schisandra

Schisandra adalah tanaman merambat yang banyak dijumpai di area China dan Rusia. Tanaman ini banyak digunakan di China untuk mengatasi masalah hati seperti hepatitis C. Beberapa penelitiian menunjukkan bahwa ramuan tersebut memiliki sifat hepatoprotektif, antiinflamasi, antioksidan, dan antivirus.

Namun ramuan tersebut dapat mengurangi keefektifan beberapa obat lain atau meningkatkan efek sampingnya. Untuk itu, konsultasikan dengan dokter sebelum mengonsumsi obat herbal schisandra.

Kunyit

Kunyit bukan hanya populer sebagai bumbu masakan namun juga sebagai obat herbal yang dapat mengatasi hepatitis. Kunyit mengandung kurkuma yang dapat menghambat masuknya genotip virus hepatitis C. Selain itu senyawa kurkumin juga menyerang virus hepatitis C sehingga mencegah proses infeksi ke hati.

 

Akar Dandelion

Dandelion adalah tanaman yang banyak dijumpai secara liar. Sebuah studi pada hewan di tahun 2021 menyebutkan bahwa akar dandelion memiliki sifat hepatoprotektif yang dapat menjaga kesehatan hati.

Dalam sebuah penelitian terbatas di tahun 2014 juga mengungkapkan bahwa dandelion dapat membatasi perkembangan hepatitis B pada hewan dan manusia.

 

Teh Hijau

Teh hijau dikenal memiliki banyak manfaat bagi kesehatan, termasuk salah satunya adalah untuk membantu meredakan gejala hepatitis. Teh hijau diketahui memiliki kandungan antioksidan katekin yang melindungi sel hati dari kerusakan dan mencegah terjadinya kanker hati.

Namun dilansir dari Medical News Today, beberapa pasien dilaporkan mengalami kerusakan hati akibat mengonsumsi teh hijau. Untuk itu orang yang mengidap hepatitis C, sebaiknya berkonsultasi ke dokter sebelum mengonsumsi produk teh hijau. Jika menimbulkan reaksi seperti masalah liver, nyeri perut, jaundice (perubahan warna kuning pada kulit atau mata) dan urine berwarna gelap sebaiknya hentikan konsumsinya.

Bupleurum

Bupleurum adalah tanaman yang banyak digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional Jepang maupun China. Sebuah penelitian di tahun 2017 mengungkapkan bahwa penggunaan ramuan herbal yang mengandung bupleurum memiliki efek hepatoprotektif dan mampu meredakan kerusakan liver.

Namun dilansir dari Healthline, sebuah penelitian pada pengidap hepatitis B mengungkapkan penggunaan bupleurum dalam dosis tinggi dapat menyebabkan kerusakan hati yang parah dan dapat bersifat mematikan.

Jika Anda mengalami masalah hati seperti sirosis, perlemakan hati nonalkohol dan penyakit kuning sebaiknya tidak meminum suplemen atau obat herbal yang mengandung bupleurum secara sembarangan.

 

Beberapa tanaman herbal diketahui memiliki khasiat untuk meredakan peradangan hati. Namun masih dibutuhkan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengetahui manfaat, dosis dan efek samping tanaman herbal tersebut dalam mengatasi hepatitis.
