Pori-pori adalah lubang kecil yang berada di permukaan kulit manusia. Pada kulit manusia, pori-pori memiliki fungsi sebagai tempat tumbuhnya rambut, saluran keluarnya keringat dan jalur minyak di kulit. Pori-pori pada kulit wajah dapat tersumbat karena kotoran, minyak, atau tumpukan sel kulit mati. Ketika pori-pori tersumbat, kondisi ini dapat menyebabkan wajah tampak kusam dan tekstur kulit menjadi kasar.

 

Tips Membersihkan Pori-Pori yang Tersumbat

Kelenjar di wajah menghasilkan zat yang disebut sebum. Sebum merupakan minyak alami yang melapisi kulit untuk melembapkan kulit. Sebum akan dibawa ke permukaan kulit melalui pori-pori untuk melembapkan dan melindungi kulit.

Terkadang, sebum, sel-sel kulit mati, keringat dan substansi lainnya dapat terjebak di dalam pori-pori. Pori-pori yang tersumbat membuat pori-pori tampak lebih besar, lebih kasar dan dapat memicu jerawat. Meskipun tidak berbahaya, namun pori yang tersumbat juga dapat menyebabkan hiperpigmentasi dan menyebabkan seseorang kurang percaya diri.

Untuk membersihkan pori-pori, berikut ini beberapa hal yang bisa Anda lakukan:

 

1. Menggunakan pore strip

Salah satu cara praktis untuk membersihkan pori-pori yang tersumbat di area hidung adalah dengan menggunakan pore strip. Basahi pore strip, tempelkan di hidung, lalu diamkan selama 5-10 menit, kemudian tarik secara perlahan. Basuh area hidung dengan air hangat untuk menghilangkan sisa lem yang menempel. Pore strip akan mengangkat komedo, debu dan sisa-sisa kotoran lain yang menyumbat pori-pori.

 

2. Menggunakan Masker charcoal

Charcoal dalam produk perawatan wajah seperti masker berfungsi untuk mengangkat kotoran dan sisa-sisa polusi yang menyumbat pori-pori. Anda dapat menggunakan masker yang tersedia di pasaran sesuai jenis kulit. Selain membersihkan pori-pori, masker charcoal bermanfaat untuk mengontrol minyak berlebih dan mengurangi risiko jerawat.

 

3. Melakukan Ekstraksi

Anda juga dapat membersihkan pori-pori tersumbat dengan melakukan ekstraksi di klinik kecantikan. Para terapis akan menggunakan alat khusus untuk membersihkan wajah terutama komedo dan jerawat di area wajah. Usai ekstraksi, terapis akan mengoleskan krim antibakteri atau antiseptik untuk mengembalikan kulit ke pH alami dan mencegah jerawat.

 

4. Melakukan Eksfoliasi

Eksfoliasi kulit dibagi menjadi 2, yaitu eksfoliasi mekanikal dan eksfoliasi kimiawi. Eksfoliasi mekanikal berarti membersihkan kulit dengan scrub, sikat, atau lap. Sedangkan eksfoliasi kimiawi berarti menggunakan produk perawatan kulit yang mengandung AHA, BHA, ataupun retinol untuk membersihkan kulit dan pori-pori.

Baik eksfoliasi kimiawi dan mekanikal berisiko membuat kulit iritasi. Sebelum melakukan eksfoliasi sebaiknya konsultasikan terlebih dahulu dengan dermatologis untuk mencegah iritasi dan peradangan.

 

5. Steam

Steam atau uap wajah bisa Anda dapatkan dengan perawatan wajah di klinik kecantikan atau melakukan penguapan sendiri di rumah. Menguap wajah membuat pori-pori lebih terbuka sehingga lebih mudah melakukan ekstraksi komedo dan zat lainnya yang menyumbat pori-pori. Lakukan penguapan wajah sektar 1-2 kali seminggu atau sesuai kebutuhan agar kulit selalu bersih.

 

Mencegah Pori-Pori Tersumbat

Selain cara di atas, Anda juga dapat melakukan beberapa hal untuk mencegah pori-pori tersumbat, yaitu:

  • Menjaga kebersihan kulit dengan rutin melakukan double cleansing, yaitu membersihkan wajah dengan pembersih berbahan dasar minyak lalu membasuhnya dengan sabun atau pembersih wajah lainnya
  • Bersihkan wajah sebelum tidur
  • Gunakan produk yang bersifat noncomedogenic
  • Eksfoliasi area yang rentan mengalami penyumbatan

Itulah beberapa cara untuk mengatasi dan mencegah pori-pori tersumbat yang bisa Anda lakukan di rumah. Selain cara di atas, Anda juga dianjurkan untuk tidak menyentuh wajah dengan tangan kotor dan menghindari tidur dengan menggunakan riasan.
