Agar kulit tetap sehat Anda perlu melakukan perawatan setiap hari. Tak hanya menggunakan produk perawatan kulit dan juga pelembap saja, Anda juga perlu secara teratur menggunakan tabir surya.

Tabir surya dengan spektrum luas, dapat melindungi dari paparan sinar UV A dan UV B. Untuk bisa memberikan perlindungan yang tepat, Anda perlu tahu bagaimana cara memilih dan menggunakan tabir surya dengan benar.

 

Cara Memilih Tabir Surya

Ada tiga hal utama yang perlu diperhatikan dalam memilih tabir surya, di antaranya:

 

Spektrum perlindungan tabir surya

Tidak semua tabir surya memberikan perlindungan terhadap sinar UV A dan UV B. Beberapa produk mungkin hanya memberikan perlindungan terhadap salah satunya saja.

Untuk memaksimalkan perlindungan kulit, Anda perlu memilih jenis tabir surya yang melindungi dari sinar UV A dan B sekaligus. Tak hanya melindungi kulit dari luka bakar sinar matahari, tabir surya dengan spektrum luas dapat mencegah kanker kulit.

 

Kadar SPF-nya

Hal penting berikutnya adalah memilih tabir surya dengan kandungan SPF minimal 30 atau lebih saat beraktivitas di luar ruangan. SPF 15 hanya memberikan perlindungan 93% terhadap sinar UV B, SPF 30 dapat memberikan perlindungan hingga 97%, SPF 50 dapat memberikan perlindungan hingga 98%, sedangkan SPF 100 dapat memberikan perlindungan hingga 99%.

Artinya, semakin tinggi kadar SPF tabir surya yang Anda gunakan, maka perlindungannya akan lebih besar.

Tahan air

Tidak ada tabir surya yang benar-benar tahan keringat atau tahan air. Namun, sangatlah penting untuk mencari produk tabir surya dengan label water resistant yang artinya memberikan perlindungan lebih lama saat berenang atau berkeringat.

Penting dicatat, tabir surya tidak melindungi selama 24 jam. Sehingga Anda perlu mengaplikasikan ulang tabir surya setidaknya setiap 2 jam sekali atau setelah berkeringat atau berenang.

 

Cara yang Benar Menggunakan Tabir Surya

Setelah mengetahui jenis tabir surya mana yang harus dipilih, maka Anda perlu tahu cara penggunaan tabir surya yang benar.

 

Pilih tabir surya sesuai fungsinya

Sebenarnya tabir surya untuk tubuh bisa digunakan untuk wajah juga. Namun, tabir surya untuk tubuh biasanya memiliki tekstur yang lebih kental dan meninggalkan jejak putih.

Sebagian orang lebih nyaman menggunakan tabir surya dengan tekstur yang lebih ringan sehingga tidak meninggalkan jejak di kulit wajah. Anda juga bisa memilih jenis tabir surya dengan label hipoalergenik agar tidak menyumbat pori.

 

Waktu yang tepat memakai tabir surya

Tabir surya mineral dan kimia digunakan dengan cara yang berbeda. Tabir surya mineral dapat digunakan kapan pun tanpa harus ada jeda waktu sebelum paparan sinar matahari. Sedangkan tabir surya kimia membutuhkan waktu lebih lama untuk dapat diserap kulit.

Tabir surya kimia sebaiknya digunakan setidaknya 15-20 menit sebelum berenang atau beraktivitas di bawah sinar matahari. Jika tidak, maka tabir surya akan mudah terhapus oleh keringat atau air.

Jumlah tabir surya

Untuk mendapatkan perlindungan yang sempurna, Anda harus menggunakan setidaknya 1/3 sendok teh tabir surya pada wajah. Anda perlu mengaplikasikan ulang setiap dua jam saat berkeringat atau berenang.
