Bersin juga dapat disebabkan oleh makanan yang Anda konsumsi. Apabila Anda sering mengalami bersin-bersin setelah makan, kemungkinan beberapa jenis makanan yang Anda konsumsi dapat menyebabkan iritasi.

Gustatory Rhinitis

Rinitis adalah iritasi atau pembengkakan di hidung yang umumnya disebabkan oleh alergi. Sedangkan gustatory rhinitis atau rinitis gustatorik tidak berhubungan dengan alergi. Gustatory rhinitis adalah kondisi yang secara spesifik menyebabkan seseorang bersin setelah makan. Hal ini terjadi ketika saraf di hidung mengalami hipersensitivitas terhadap alergen.

Gejala gustatory rhinitis di antaranya bersin, pilek, hidung buntu. Biasanya kondisi ini sering dialami setelah Anda makan pedas atau makan makanan yang mengandung cabai, kari dan sup panas.

Rinitis ini terjadi diduga karena ada reseptor khusus di lapisan hidung yang mendeteksi capcaisin, senyawa pedas dari cabai yang akhirnya menyebabkan bersin-bersin.

Snatiation Reflex

Istilah snatiation reflex berawal dari kata sneeze (bersin) dan satiation (kenyang). Kondisi ini adalah reflek yang terjadi ketika perut kenyang dan meregang setelah makan. Hingga kini belum diketahui penyebab seseorang mengalami refleks tersebut, namun diduga faktor genetik menjadi salah satu penyebabnya.

 

Alergi Makanan

Makanan yang Anda konsumsi juga dapat menyebabkan seseorang mengalami bersin-bersin setelah makan. Selain bersin-bersin, gejala yang mungkin muncul adalah mata gatal dan ruam kulit. Beberapa makanan yang dapat memicu alergi di antaranya susu, telur, kacang tanah, kedelai dan kacang.

 

Flu

Bersin-bersin setelah makan juga dapat disebabkan oleh flu. Apabila Anda mengalami bersin-bersin setelah makan diikuti gejala flu lainnya, seperti hidung tersumbat, batuk atau sakit kepala maka bersin yang Anda alami kemungkinan besar disebabkan oleh flu.

 

Penyebab Lainnya

Bagi Anda yang memiliki rinitis alergi, bersin setelah makan juga dapat disebabkan oleh rinitis alergi. Beberapa penyebab rinitis alergi di antaranya debu, tanaman, serbuk sari, hewan peliharaan dan tungau. Pada Anda yang memiliki alergi cuaca, kemungkinan akan mengalami bersin-bersin setelah makan ketika cuaca sedang dingin.

Mengatasi Bersin-Bersin Setelah Makan

Bersin-bersin setelah makan adalah hal yang normal dan tidak berbahaya. Kondisi ini dapat mereda dengan sendirinya tanpa perlu penanganan khusus. Cara mencegah bersin setelah makan dapat dilakukan dengan cara menghindari pemicunya.

Apabila ada beberapa jenis makanan yang menyebabkan Anda mengalami bersin setelah makan, maka sebaiknya batasi konsumsi makanan tersebut untuk mengurangi bersin-bersin. Jika bersin-bersin terus berlanjut meskipun Anda sudah mengurangi makanan dan pemicu alergen lainnya maka sebaiknya periksakan ke dokter.
