Peralatan kesehatan umumnya digunakan tenaga kesehatan atau tenaga medis untuk memeriksa kesehatan Anda. Namun jika Anda memiliki masalah kesehatan tertentu, dianjurkan untuk memiliki alat kesehatan di rumah. Selain itu, memiliki alat kesehatan juga bermanfaat untuk mencegah dan mengatasi beberapa kondisi darurat.

 

Beberapa Alat Kesehatan yang Sebaiknya Tersedia di Rumah

Di setiap rumah sebaiknya tersedia beberapa alat kesehatan yang bisa Anda gunakan secara mandiri. Terutama jika Anda mengidap beberapa penyakit kronis seperti diabetes, tekanan darah tinggi atau asma. Dengan tersedianya alat kesehatan di rumah, Anda dapat memantau kondisi kesehatan, melakukan pertolongan pertama, dan mengetahui kapan harus ke dokter untuk mendapat pertolongan darurat.

Beberapa peralatan kesehatan yang sebaiknya tersedia di rumah antara lain:

 

Peralatan P3K (Pertolongan Pertama pada Kecelakaan)

Luka dan cedera bisa terjadi kapan pun pada siapa saja. Cedera yang terjadi bisa berupa luka gores, terkilir, atau luka bakar. Gatal-gatal dan demam juga merupakan masalah kesehatan yang sering dialami sehari-hari. Sebagai penanganan awal, Anda perlu menyediakan peralatan P3K (Pertolongan Pertama pada Kecelakaan) yang terdiri dari:

  • Kain kasa gulung dan steril
  • Perban
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Pinset, gunting
  • Petrolleum jelly atau lubricant
  • Termometer (digital)
  • Cairan antiseptik
  • Tisu pembersih
  • Plester, dll.

Selain peralatan di atas, beberapa obat-obatan yang perlu Anda sediakan antara lain losion kalamin, obat antihistamin, obat diare dan pencahar, obat batuk dan pilek, pereda nyeri, penurun asam lambung, atau obat pusing.

Tensimeter

Bagi Anda yang memiliki tekanan darah tinggi, dianjurkan untuk memiliki tensimeter sendiri di rumah. Tensimeter berfungsi untuk mengukur tekanan darah sehingga Anda dapat memantau tekanan darah dengan rutin.

Saat ini tersedia tensimeter digital yang mudah digunakan secara mandiri. Ketika akan mengukur tekanan darah, pastikan Anda duduk dalam keadaan tenang, tidak merokok, tidak minum kopi sebelumnya dan tidak berolahraga 30 menit sebelum pengukuran tekanan darah.

Atur posisi duduk tegak dengan kaki dan punggung menapak serta letakkan lengan pada posisi yang rata. Ukur tekanan darah Anda pada waktu yang sama setiap harinya, bisa di pagi hari atau malam hari. 

Glukometer

Diabetes yang tidak terkontrol dapat menyebabkan komplikasi serius yang membahayakan nyawa. Untuk itu, pengidap diabetes akan dianjurkan untuk memeriksa kadar gula darah secara rutin. Anda bisa menggunakan alat tes gula darah secara mandiri atau yang dikenal dengan glukometer.

Cara menggunakannya tidak sulit, Anda akan dibekali pena berisi jarum untuk ditusukkan ke ujung jari, lalu tadah darah yang keluar pada strip tes. Masukkan strip tes pada alat, kemudian angka kadar gula darah akan muncul di layar.

Oximeter

Oximeter adalah alat yang digunakan untuk mengukur kadar oksigen dalam darah. Dalam peralatan oximeter biasanya juga tersedia pengukur detak jantung. Cara pemakaiannya cukup mudah, Anda hanya perlu menjepitkan jari (biasanya telunjuk) ke dalam oximeter dengan posisi yang tepat. Setelah kadar oksigen dan detak jantung terbaca, Anda bisa melepaskan jari dari oximeter.
