Kecanduan merupakan penyakit yang dapat memengaruhi otak dan tingkah laku. Saat kecanduan narkoba, Anda mungkin kesulitan dalam menahan keinginan untuk tidak menggunakannya walaupun Anda tahu bahwa hal itu dapat membahayakan jiwa Anda.

Berbeda jenis obat, berbeda pula pengaruh bagi tubuh. Faktor ukuran tubuh, kesehatan secara umum, jumlah, kekuatan obat juga dapat memberikan efek yang berbeda-beda pada setiap orang.

Digunakan dalam jangka panjang maupun pendek, narkoba dapat memengaruhi kondisi fisik dan psikis. Karena memengaruhi sistem saraf, narkoba dapat mengubah cara berpikir, perasaan dan juga tingkah laku.

Risiko kesehatan yang dapat Anda alami ketika kecanduan narkoba di antaranya:

Kokain

Kecanduan kokain seperti dilansir Mayo Clinic dan Very Well Health dapat menyebabkan efek sebagai berikut:

Efek fisik:

  • Penyempitan pembuluh darah
  • Dilatasi pupil (bagian hitam pada tengah mata membesar)
  • Peningkatan suhu tubuh
  • Peningkatan detak jantung
  • Peningkatan tekanan darah
  • Penurunan berat badan
  • Sakit perut
  • Kejang
  • Vertigo
  • Stroke
  • Serangan jantung

Efek psikis:

  • Serangan panik
  • Mudah tersinggung
  • Kecemasan
  • Depresi
  • Prilaku berulang
  • Halusinasi
  • Paranoia (rasa curiga terhadap orang disekelilingnya)
  • Penilaian yang buruk

Ekstasi

Menurut Betterhealth, efek dari ekstasi dapat menyebabkan serangkaian kondisi yang membahayakan jiwa antara lain:

  • Henti jantung
  • Stroke
  • Gagal ginjal
  • Kerusakan otak permanen
  • Kerusakan liver/hati
  • Gangguan ingatan dan konsentrasi
  • Depresi
  • Peningkatan risiko HIV, hepatitis, keracunan darah, abses pada kulit
  • Peningkatan risiko penyakit infeksi menular seksual
  • Hipertermia (suhu tubuh meningkat terlalu tinggi) dan dehidrasi (kekurangan cairan)
  • Hiponatremia dilusional (komplikasi akibat penurunan konsentrasi natrium serum)

Ganja

Dilansir Very Well Mind kecanduan ganja dapat menyebabkan beberapa efek berikut:

  • Delusi, halusinasi dan kekacauan dalam berpikir dan berbicara
  • Meningkatkan risiko serangan jantung
  • Mengurangi kepadatan tulang
  • Menyebabkan bronkitis akut, batuk kronis, sesak napas dan mengi
  • Meningkatkan risiko kanker

Methamphetamine

Dilansir WebMD, kecanduan methamphetamine dapat menyebabkan serangkaian efek serius di antaranya:

  • Gangguan pada peredaran darah
  • Luka yang tidak biasa pada jari kaki atau tangan
  • Gangguan mental
  • Pembengkakan pada kaki atau pergelangan kaki
  • Kelelahan ekstrim
  • Penurunan berat badan yang tidak jelas penyebabnya
  • Gangguan gairah seksual
  • Gangguan pada penglihatan
  • Sakit kepala hebat
  • Kejang
  • Gejala serangan jantung
  • Gejala stroke

Opioid

Dilansir Medlineplus, opioid biasanya diresepkan oleh dokter untuk mengurangi nyeri setelah mengalami cedera atau menjalani pembedahan. Opioid juga diberikan untuk mengatasi nyeri berat pada pasien kanker.

Penyalahgunaan opioid dapat menyebabkan efek samping seperti rasa kantuk berlebihan, mental fog/brain fog (gangguan otak yang dapat menghambat kemampuan berpikir), mual dan sembelit serta melambatnya pernapasan yang dapat memicu kematian.

Penyalahgunaan narkoba dalam jangka panjang maupun pendek juga dapat menyebabkan overdosis yang dapat mengakibatkan kematian. Hindari penyalahgunaan narkoba, dan selalu konsumsi obat sesuai dengan resep dokter.
