Cara Kerja

Vitamin D3 (kolkalsiferol) digunakan bersama dengan kalsium untuk mencegah dan mengobati penyakit tulang seperti rakitis (pelunakan dan melemahnya tulang pada anak-anak yang disebabkan oleh kekurangan vitamin D), osteomalasia (pelunakan dan melemahnya tulang pada orang dewasa yang disebabkan oleh kekurangan vitamin D), dan osteoporosis (suatu kondisi di mana tulang menjadi keropos serta mudah patah). Kolkalsiferol dibutuhkan oleh tubuh untuk kesehatan tulang, otot, saraf, dan untuk mendukung sistem kekebalan tubuh. Kolkalsiferol bekerja dengan membantu penyerapan banyak kalsium yang ditemukan diperoleh dar makanan atau suplemen.

Indikasi

Orang yang tidak mendapatkan cukup vitamin D dari diet; rakitis, osteomalasia, dan osteoporosis.

Kontraindikasi

Hipersensitivitas / alergi, riwayat penyakit ginjal, kadar kalsium dan vitamin D dalam darah tinggi (hiperkalsemia & hipervitaminosis D).

Efek Samping

Terlalu banyak mengonsumsi vitamin D dapat menyebabkan kadar kalsium tinggi yang berbahaya. Beri tahu dokter Anda segera jika salah satu dari tanda-tanda kadar vitamin D / kalsium yang tinggi ini terjadi: mual / muntah, konstipasi / susah buang air besar, kehilangan nafsu makan, rasa haus yang meningkat, peningkatan buang air kecil, perubahan mental / suasana hati, kelelahan yang tidak biasa. Reaksi alergi yang sangat serius terhadap obat ini jarang terjadi. Namun, segera dapatkan bantuan medis jika Anda mengalami gejala reaksi alergi yang serius, termasuk: ruam, gatal / bengkak (terutama pada wajah / lidah / tenggorokan), sakit kepala hebat, dan kesulitan bernapas.

Sediaan

Kapsul, kapsul gel, gel kunyah (gummy), tablet.

Dosis

Jumlah yang harus dikonsumsi setiap hari disebut rekomendasi diet yang dianjurkan / recommended dietary allowance (RDA). Berikut RDA sesuai usia dan kelompok tertentu:

  • Bagi orang berusia 1-70 tahun, RDA nya adalah 600 IU (15 mcg) setiap hari.
  • Bagi orang yang berusia di atas 70 tahun, RDA nya adalah 800 IU (20 mcg) per hari.
  • Saat hamil dan menyusui, RDA adalah 600 IU (15 mcg) per hari.
  • Pada anak-anak, RDA tergantung pada usia.

Kebanyakan orang tidak boleh mengonsumsi vitamin D lebih dari 4000 IU setiap hari kecuali berada di bawah pengawasan dokter.

Keamanan

Suplemen dalam bentuk tablet kunyah (gummy) mungkin mengandung gula dan / atau aspartam. Produk cair mungkin juga mengandung alkohol. Hal ini penting diperhatikan jika Anda memiliki diabetes, penyakit hati, atau kondisi lain yang mengharuskan Anda untuk membatasi / menghindari zat-zat ini dalam diet Anda.
