Suntik KB adalah salah satu pilihan alat kontrasepsi yang banyak digunakan di Indonesia. Dibandingkan dengan pil KB yang harus diminum teratur setiap hari, suntik KB lebih praktis untuk para perempuan yang kerap lupa jadwal minum pil KB. Cara Kerja Suntik KB

Suntik KB dilakukan dengan menyuntikkan hormon progestogen, hormon yang serupa dengan hormon alami progesteron yang dapat membantu mencegah kehamilan. Pada suntikan KB per 3 bulan, dalam kurun waktu 12 minggu tersebut KB akan menghentikan proses pelepasan sel telur (ovulasi). Berhentinya proses inilah yang menyebabkan sperma tidak bisa membuahi sel telur sehingga tidak akan terjadi kehamilan.

Selain itu, hormon progestogen juga bekerja dengan menebalkan lendir di bagian serviks sehingga sperma tidak bisa masuk lebih jauh ke dalam rahim. Suntikan ini juga menipiskan dinding rahim sehingga embrio akan sulit menempel. Suntik KB ini memiliki efektivitas 99% jika dilakukan secara rutin.

 

Apakah Bisa Hamil Jika Terlambat Suntik KB?

Satu hal yang sering menjadi pertanyaan para ibu muda yang menggunakan suntik KB adalah, apakah jika lupa atau terlambat menggunakan suntik KB bisa menyebabkan kehamilan. Jawabannya adalah mungkin saja terjadi kehamilan saat terlambat melakukan suntik KB terutama jika telah melakukan hubungan seks tanpa kondom. Selain itu, kehamilan juga bisa terjadi karena hormon yang berfungsi mencegah kehamilan sudah habis.

Namun, perlu diketahui bahwa efek dari terlambat suntik KB ini bisa berbeda-beda pada setiap orang. Tidak selalu jika Anda terlambat suntik hamil pasti akan terjadi kehamilan setelah terjadinya hubungan intim. Akan tetapi, jika sudah lebih dari tiga atau empat bulan Anda terlambat melakukan suntik KB, tentu hormon progestogen yang ada di tubuh sudah tidak bekerja maksimal sehingga peluang untuk kemungkinan hamil bisa saja terjadi.

 

Apa yang harus dilakukan jika terlambat suntik KB?

Lupa suntik KB di saat Anda sedang menjalani program penundaan kehamilan dapat membuat panik dan khawatir kebobolan hamil. Untuk mencegah kehamilan, Anda bisa menggunakan kondom saat berhubungan seks dengan pasangan. Namun jika Anda merasa ragu, sebaiknya bicarakan dengan pasangan untuk menunda hubungan intim.

Apabila Anda sudah terlanjur berhubungan intim dengan pasangan tanpa menggunakan kondom, Anda bisa mengonsumsi pil KB darurat. Semakin cepat Anda menunda konsumsi pil KB, maka peluang kehamilan akan semakin kecil. Pil KB diketahui dapat mencegah kehamilan hingga 5 hari ke depan setelah berhubungan intim.

 

Tips agar Tidak Terlambat Suntik KB

Suntik KB dapat efektif mencegah kehamilan jika dilakukan dengan rutin dan tepat waktu. Untuk mencegah agar Anda tidak lupa jadwal suntik KB, Anda bisa memasang pengingat di kalender ponsel Anda. Anda juga menandai kalender Anda dengan spidol atau memasang pengingat lain di tempat yang sering Anda lihat seperti pintu kulkas dapur atau papan pengingat di kamar. Selain itu, Anda juga bisa meminta pasangan Anda untuk mengingatkan jadwal suntik KB berikutnya.
