How It Works

Carbazochrome is a hemostatic agent that helps the body control bleeding by supporting the formation and stabilization of blood clots. Its actions include:

  • Preventing and stopping ongoing bleeding
  • Aiding the clotting process during wound healing
  • Reducing blood loss from open wounds

 

Indications

Used to manage bleeding during or after surgical procedures, and in conditions such as:

  • Dental bleeding
  • Vomiting blood originating from the gastrointestinal tract
  • Coughing up blood from the respiratory tract
  • Nosebleeds
  • Red or bloody urine (hematuria)
  • Bleeding from open wounds

 

Contraindication

Do not use in individuals with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to carbazochrome.

 

Side Effects

  • Pain at the injection site
  • Headache
  • Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain
  • Muscle weakness (rare)
  • Breathing difficulty (rare)
  • Skin rash (rare)

 

Types

Available forms include:

  • 10 mg and 30 mg tablets
  • Injectable solution in 5 mL and 10 mL ampoules

 

Dosage

Injection Drugs

  • 10 mg per day by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection
  • 25–100 mg per day by intravenous injection or IV infusion

Tablets

  • 10–30 mg, three times daily

Carbazochrome is typically administered in healthcare settings under a doctor’s supervision. Follow all medical directions and inform your provider about any prior allergies to this medicine. Share your full medical history before receiving treatment.

Before surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all products you use, including prescription medicines, over-the-counter drugs (vitamins, supplements, other remedies), and herbal preparations.

Use with particular caution in people with liver disorders, as the condition may worsen. Close monitoring of liver function and dose adjustments may be needed based on clinical status.

During pregnancy, use only if clearly needed. It is unknown whether this medicine passes into breast milk; consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
