Oatmeal adalah salah satu menu makanan sehat yang sering digunakan untuk diet. Dibandingkan dengan nasi putih dan roti tawar putih, oatmeal memiliki kandungan serat lebih tinggi sehingga mampu memberi rasa kenyang lebih lama. Namun, tahukah Anda jika ada beberapa kesalahan cara makan oatmeal yang justru dapat membuat Anda makin gemuk?

 

Kesalahan saat makan oatmeal

Sejumlah penelitian menyebutkan bahwa mengonsumsi oatmeal yang terbuat dari gandum utuh yang baik untuk sistem pencernaan dan seringkali digunakan untuk menurunkan berat badan. Namun perlu diingat bahwa kunci dari menu diet adalah cara pengolahan makanan yang tepat. Bahan makanan sehat jika diolah dengan cara yang salah atau dikonsumsi berlebihan juga dapat memicu kenaikan berat badan.

 

1. Makan dalam porsi berlebih

Pernah melihat porsi oatmeal kering dalam mangkuk lalu merasa porsi tersebut terlalu sedikit? Hal ini sering dialami oleh yang baru memulai diet dengan menu oatmeal. Merasa oatmeal terlalu sedikit lalu menambahkan porsinya sehingga akhirnya porsi makan oatmeal justru berlebih.

Meskipun menyantap oatmeal relatif sehat, namun apabila makan dalam porsi berlebih tetap dapat berisiko menaikkan berat badan. Solusinya, gunakan mangkuk kecil agar Anda tidak tersugesti bahwa porsi yang Anda makan sangat sedikit.

 

2. Memilih topping yang tidak sehat

Salah satu kunci makanan sehat adalah perpaduan kombinasi makanan yang disantap. Hindari menyantap oatmeal dengan makanan yang memiliki kadar gula tinggi atau lemak tinggi seperti selai dengan kandungan gula tinggi maupun diolah dengan terlalu banyak susu berlemak tinggi maupun keju.

Untuk membuat santapan oatmeal Anda tetap sehat, sebaiknya pilih topping berupa buah segar seperti beri atau pisang. Jika ingin rasa gurih dalam oatmeal, Anda bisa menambahkan kacang-kacangan, seledri, atau telur rebus dan ikan yang dikukus.

 

Nah, setelah mengetahui kesalahan saat menyantap oatmeal tersebut tentunya kini Anda dapat menentukan menu oatmeal Anda sehari-hari. Jangan lupa untuk tetap memerhatikan keseimbangan gizi dalam menu diet Anda dan imbangi dengan olahraga rutin. Apabila tujuan Anda adalah untuk menurunkan berat badan, tetap mengingat prinsip defisit kalori. Menggunakan oatmeal sebagai alternatif pengganti karbohidrat efektif namun harus tetap memperhatikan porsi dan takaran.
